Community/Behavioral Health Resources

  • - 988 has been designated as the three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. This line offers free, confidential support 24-7 over the phone or through chat.
  • - provides a range of free services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking and child abuse in the Greater New Orleans area.
  • - provides integrated family medicine, behavioral health services and developmental disability services for Jefferson Parish residents. JeffCare is a health center offering primary care and mental health services to people with or without health insurance.
  • - Dial 2-1-1 to find health and human services available in the state.
  • - Offers person-centered support and services for people with mental illness, addictive disorders and intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in Orleans, Plaquemines and St. Bernard parishes. Uninsured or Medicaid eligible people are accepted. MHSD operates a virtual support chat line during the week and has a 24-hour crisis hotline at (504) 826-2675.
  • - Services include adult & pediatric primary care as well as behavioral health services.

  • - The Veterans Crisis Line is a free, anonymous, confidential resource that’s available to anyone, even if you’re not registered with VA or enrolled in VA health care. This line is for veterans having thoughts of self-harm, suicide, or becoming self-destructive.
