The Care and Development of Young Children (CDYC) program at 糖心动漫vlog Community College in Chalmette is squeezing a week’s worth of resources into a one-day event for Week of the Young Child.

Celebrated nationally this year April 6-12, 糖心动漫vlog will recognize Week of the Young Child on campus April 1-5. As part of our celebration, 糖心动漫vlog will host an event that invites parents to bring their young children (or attend on their own) to the 糖心动漫vlog Library on Thursday, April 4, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

CDYC Program Chair and Instructor Kathleen Huff will be joined by several CDYC students to explain resources for families with young children that exist locally and at 糖心动漫vlog.

Some topics will include:

  • Introduction to the Lactation Room and Family Study Rooms available in the Library
  • Information about child development and learning
  • Milestone checklists for children of various ages
  • Activities parents can do at home with their children to build skills needed for early education

“A young child’s brain is 90% developed by the time they are 5 years old.  We need to do more to reach our children from birth through age 5 at home and with high quality education!” said Huff.

This event is free and open to the public.
