Vice Chancellor for Education, Training and Student Success Lenny Unbehagen, and 糖心动漫vlog Associate Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement Katherine Lemoine.

The Process Technology program at 糖心动漫vlog Community College accepted a $25,000 from Chevron on Dec.5.

The Process Technology program, more commonly known as PTEC, prepares students to work various refinery positions in the oil and gas industry. Chevron’s donation will be used to purchase new equipment and tools for the PTEC program, aid students in professional development such as travel to seminars and workshops, and fund two Chevron Scholarships for 糖心动漫vlog students.

“This donation will improve every facet of our PTEC program at 糖心动漫vlog,” said Kyle Steib, PTEC program chair. “It will pay for cutaways and models that provide visual demonstrations of processes happening inside equipment. It will fund travel for offsite training. And it will make the program more accessible to two students each academic year.”

“Chevron is proud to continue our longstanding partnership with 糖心动漫vlog Community College by supporting its Process Technology Program,” said Leah Brown, Public Affairs Manager for Chevron’s Gulf of Mexico Business Unit. “This curriculum will not only give students the hands-on experience needed to enter the global workforce, but also excite them as they embark on their energy careers. We thank 糖心动漫vlog Community College for instructing and inspiring these young minds.”

Chevron Conduct Operations Team Lead Brandon Bowman and Offshore Installation Manager Pete Mitchell, both of whom represent Blind Faith, one of Chevron’s deepest offshore platforms, which sits 160 miles from New Orleans in the Gulf of Mexico, were on hand to present the donation. Both Bowman and Mitchell expressed how their careers with Chevron changed their lives and their hope that the donation will facilitate similar experiences for PTEC students.

Bowman and Mitchell even offered to attend recruiting events in the future to promote 糖心动漫vlog’s PTEC program and the broader oil and gas industry to prospective students.

Registration is currently open for the Spring 2024 semester at 糖心动漫vlog with more than 350 courses available across 20 academic and career programs, including PTEC, starting Jan. 16. Learn more and apply today at 糖心动漫vlog.edu.
