Position: EMSE (EMR/EMT) Instructor - Adjunct
Division: EMS Education
Reports To: EMSE Program Chair

Position Summary
The EMSE (EMR / EMT) Adjunct instructor plans, supports and delivers instruction for credit-based college courses in the EMS Program or related courses.  Instructors participate in the assessment for the program as well as providing instruction in both the classroom and lab environments.  Classes take place on the 糖心动漫vlog Community College Campus in Chalmette, LA as well as possibly at various high schools in the greater New Orleans Area.  Classes are scheduled at various times and days. 

Education
Required

  • NREMT Basic and LA Basic Licenses
  • Nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician or higher.
  • State licensed Emergency Medical Technician or higher.
  • Ability to become an EMS Instructor in the State of Louisiana.

Preferred

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Emergency Management, Public Health, Fire Administration, Fire Science, or EMS.
  • Instructor with AHA BLS.
  • Licensed EMS Instructor with the State of Louisiana.
  • Previous experience with higher education.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in face to face classes including preparing and delivering curriculum and supporting and maintaining a positive learning environment, to both the traditional college student as well as possible high school students.
  • Support student learning and development through use of student conferences and mentoring activities, student feedback, including supporting a community learning on the campus and in the classroom.
  • Participate in assessment at the program, departmental and college level for ongoing improvement and in relation to special tasks or projects.
  • Assist Program Chair with scheduling of clinical / field practicums.
  • Other duties as assigned.
